What are the allowed baggage measurements and weight?

Cabin baggage

Small bag or backpack:

  • The maximum measurements are 45 x 35 x 20 cm (height x length x width), including pockets, wheels and handle, etc. (17,8 x 13,8 x 7,9 in).

Carry-on Bag:

  • The maximum weight is 12 kg (26 lb) if you travel in Economy Cabin and 16 kg (35 lb) if you travel in Premium Economy or Premium Business Cabins.
  • The maximum measurements for this baggage are 55 cm high + 35 cm long + 25 cm wide.

Checked baggage

Additional baggage of 15 kg:

  • Dimensions: Maximum 158 linear cm (adding length + width + height)

Bagagem adicional de 23 kg:

  • Dimensions: Maximum 158 linear cm (adding length + width + height)

Each baggage counts as one piece, in other words, it cannot be separated in different baggages of less kg.

If you need it, you can also add baggage.

Sport, musical and audiovisual baggage

Musical instruments, televisions, monitors, sport and audiovisual equipment are considere “special baggage” and can be transported in the hold por extra charge.

  • Allowed weight: Up to 45 kg (99.2 lb) per piece, and up to 32 kg (70.5 lb) per piece for flights to, from, or via Argentina, Aruba, Cuba, Europe, Oceania, South Africa or Venezuela.
  • Dimensions: Maximum 300 linear cm per piece (adding length + width + height).

What happens if my baggage’s weight or dimensions exceed the allowance?

If your cabin baggage exceeds the weight or dimensions allowed, it will be sent to the plane’s hold and you will have to pay the additional cost.

In the case of checked baggage, you can pay for the overweight and the oversize at check-in time at the airport, if it meets the following destination conditions:

  • Flights with origin, destination or via Argentina, Aruba, Cuba, Europe, Oceania, South Africa or Venezuela: you are allowed to take overweight checked baggage of up to 32 kg per piece (70,5 lb) by paying an extra fee.
  • Flights with connection with Air Canada, British Airways, Iberia or Qantas: the weight limit is up to 32 kg (70,5 lb) per piece.
  • Other destinations: are allowed to take overweight checked baggage of up to 45 kg (99,2 lb) per piece and 300 linear cm of oversize, paying extra cost.
