Can I carry my own wheelchair?
Yes, and you can transport it free of charge, regardless of the baggage you carry with you. All you have to do is contact us at least 24 hours before your flight departure via the Contact Center.
If you travel with your wheelchair with a lithium battery, you can transport it if you use one battery not exceeding 300 Wh or 2 batteries not exceeding 160 Wh each. In both cases, the batteries must be secured to the wheelchair. In addition, you can carry spare batteries as carry-on baggage under certain conditions:
- Carry them wrapped or stored in an original container. Cover their terminals with adhesive tape in a separate protective case or bag.
- Do not exceed 8 grams of lithium.
- Its capacity must be described on its label; otherwise, you need to present the technical specifications of the wheelchair at the airport to verify that it meets the requirements.
It is important to know that:
- If you bring your own battery-powered motorized wheelchair, you will only be able to obtain your boarding pass at the airport.
- When traveling from Brazil with your manual or motorized wheelchair, you will be able to obtain your boarding pass on our website or app.
- We recommend that you save and present your boarding pass on your mobile phone.
