What options does LATAM offer in the event of canceled or rescheduled flights?

We apologize for modifying your itinerary. We know you had plans, so we’re offering you the option to choose a new date at no cost, as long as your new flight is to the same destination and in the same class as the original one.

To change your ticket, you have a time period of up to 12 months from the date of your first original flight purchased, only on trips that you have not taken. For example, if your trip started on June 10, 2022, you have until June 10, 2023 to make the change.

To make the change, have your order number or reservation code close by, and follow the steps below:

  1. Enter with your trip information and you will see the proposed itinerary
    If you want to keep this option, you don’t need to do anything. Your flight is already confirmed.
  2. If you do decide to change, check other flights and select the date
    We will give you a list of available flights for the date you have selected.
  3. Select the flight that suits you best
    Review it in detail and, if you wish, modify the other flights in your itinerary too.
  4. Confirm the change
    Don’t forget to accept the terms and conditions, and your change will be ready.

In case you would not like to make any change on your canceled or rescheduled flight, you can ask for a refund. By choosing this option you confirm the automatic full refund of your flights not taken with its corresponding taxes, seats and baggage.

Canceled or significantly changed flights to or from the United States

In case your flight to or from the United States has been canceled or rescheduled, you can choose from one of the following options:

  • Reschedule your flight at no additional cost (for the same cabin and route);
  • Leave an open ticket with no specific travel date for up to 12 months from the date of your first original flight purchased;
  • Refund of your flights not taken with its corresponding taxes, seats and baggage.

In case you reject or do not choose any of the options above before the departure of your rescheduled flight, your flight not taken will be automatically refunded with its corresponding taxes, seats and baggage, complying with the rule requiring automatic refunds from the US Department of Transportation.

Refund issuance:

  • Within 7 business days of refunds becoming due for credit card purchases.
  • 20 business days for other payment methods.
