What should I do if some of my baggage is missing or damaged?
If you are still at the airport
Before leaving the baggage claim area, find a LATAM staff member, so we can log in your case in our systems.
If your baggage is damaged, our staff will carry out the necessary evaluations at the AIRPORT and, if applicable, we will give you a compensation.
If you have already left the AIRPORT:
Contact our specialized baggage team through WhatsApp within a maximum of 7 days from your date of arrival.
Damage arising from normal or pre-existing baggage handling
LATAM Airlines is not responsible for pre-existing damage, damage generated by excess content (broken closures) or for wear that may occur during the natural movement of luggage, such as small cuts, scratches or absence of elements that do not compromise its use, such as logos and key rings.
