Can I change my ticket due to medical reasons or a death?

If someone on the reservation or an immediate family member has passed away or has a medical condition that prevents them from traveling, you can contact our Contact Center  so an agent can assess the situation and help you find a solution.

Note that you must notify us before your flight and have a possible new travel date in mind. You must also have the following original documents:

  • A medical certificate detailing the medical condition that prevents travel or a death certificate.
  • Documentation proving the family relationship, when applicable.

Change or refund your ticket for medical reasons for tickets purchased in Chile

You may change the scheduled date of your trip or request a refund of the amount paid if:

  • You present a medical certificate proving you are unable to travel within 24 hours following your notice.
  • You notify us before the scheduled departure time of the flight

Keep in mind that if you make a change to a ticket of higher value, you must pay the difference.
The new travel date may be scheduled within a period of up to 1 year from the original travel date.
Alternatively, you may request a refund of the amount paid, which you will receive within 30 days from the original scheduled travel date.
This right may also be exercised by the passenger’s spouse, civil partner, parents and children, provided they are included in the same reservation.
