How does check-in work, and when is it automatic?

What is Check-in?

Check-in is the process you go through 48 hours before flying to obtain your boarding pass. To do this, you must log in to our website and fill in your details such as your travel document information.

When is Check-in automatic?

If you purchased a domestic flight directly on latam.com and operated by LATAM, we will automatically check you in and your boarding pass will be available on latam.com or in the app 48 hours before your flight.

When do I need to check in on my own?

You will need to check in if:

- Your flight is international
- It is a domestic flight purchased through an agency or another website other than LATAM's

You will need to check in only once. When you check in for your outbound flight, your details will be saved, and we will automatically check you in for your return flight 48 hours before flying, and your boarding pass will be available on our website and on our app.

When should I check in?

You can check in from 48 hours and up to 2 hours before your first outbound flight. Then you will need to check in at the counter.

How do I check in?

  1. Go to latam.com under the My trips tab at the top of the website. You can also check in on the LATAM Airlines app.

  2. Complete your travel documents

  3. Your boarding pass will be available for you to show on the day of your flight.

What if I have a flight with another airline?

If you have a Delta flight, you will be able to check in on our website for all your flights. In these cases, you will need to check in 24 hours before your flight.

If you have a flight with other airlines, you will need to check in at latam.com, and we will provide you with the check-in information on the corresponding airline's.

Do you need your boarding pass?

You can obtain it on the LATAM Airlines App or on our website by going to My Trips.

On the day of your flight, check in at the airport as usual. If you are traveling with carry-on baggage, just go directly to the boarding gate with your ID card or passport. If you have your boarding pass on your mobile phone, you will see the gate number updated.

If you are carrying checked baggage, please go to our self-service kiosk to tag your bags and drop them off.
