Musical instruments

Small instruments are allowed in the cabin, as long as they do not exceed the limits of carry-on baggage. If they do not comply with the established measurements or maximum weight, they must go in the hold. To transport them, you must pack them properly to avoid any damage during the trip. We recommend that you carry the instruments in special containers for fragile objects.

Musical instruments considered as special baggage:

  • Cello, tuba, double bass or bass drum: In order to be transported in the hold, they must be packed in rigid cases, always subject to special baggage charges.

Exception for guitars:

The carriage of guitars is only permitted if they are properly packed in hard cases and will always be transported in the hold of the aircraft.

A guitar with its case is considered regular baggage, so if your ticket includes a free baggage item within the free baggage allowance, you may use it by checking your guitar. If you have already used your free baggage allowance, the guitar and case will be charged as additional baggage.
