When do I have the right to request a full refund of my ticket?

As a passenger, you have the right to request a full refund of your ticket under the Withdrawal Law if your trip has not started. Check the conditions for each country:

Right of Withdrawal in the United States

You may request the cancellation of your purchase of:

  • Any ticket purchased on the channels in the United States, no matter the route.
  • You make the request within 24 hours of purchasing your ticket.
  • The ticket was purchased at least 7 days before the day of the flight.

Right of withdrawal in Chile

You may exercise the Right of Withdrawal to request a refund when:

  • The ticket is for a flight within Chile.
  • The withdrawal request is made in the 48 hours following purchase (in the case of tickets acquired at least 7 days before the flight departure date and time) or within the 7 days following purchase (in the case of tickets acquired at least 180 days before the  flight departure date and time).

To request a refund you will need to create a case and enter your information in the "Refund of tickets due to retraction" category.

You may also request a refund at LATAM Airlines sales offices, at authorized agencies, or by calling our Contact Center.

Resolution No. 400 of the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC)

The terms of the Resolution will be valid as long as:

  • The ticket was purchased through any of our channels in Brazil.
  • The ticket was purchased at least 7 days before the first flight.
  • You make the request within 24 hours of purchasing your ticket.

619 Normative Peru and Ecuador

This applies to purchases made through all channels, provided you did not purchase a promotional fare and you make a claim at least 72 hours before your flight.

The airline is entitled to retain 10% of the fare.

To request a refund for any of these reasons, please get in touch with our Contact Center.

 

Right of withdrawal or rescission in Colombia 

You may exercise the Right of Withdrawal to request a refund as long as:

  • The domestic or international ticket was purchased through any of our channels in Colombia;
  • You make the request within 5 business days of purchasing your ticket and at least 5 days before your flight. 

You may exercise the Right of Rescission to request a refund as long as:

  • You have a Full or Standard fare ticket and you make the claim between the moment of your purchase and up to 24 hours before your flight.
  • The airline may retain 10% of the fare.

If you bought your ticket from a travel agency, get in touch directly with their staff to check your refund options.

 

Right of withdrawal in Uruguay 

You may exercise the Right of Withdrawal to request a refund as long as:

  • The ticket was purchased through our Website, LATAM App or Contact Center in Uruguay;
  • You make the request within 5 business days of purchasing your ticket.

Right of withdrawal in Argentina

You may exercise the Right of Withdrawal to request a refund as long as:

  • The ticket was purchased through our Website, LATAM App or Contact Center.
  • You make the request within 10 calendar days of purchasing your ticket or before the first flight on the ticket departs, whichever occurs first, and as long as your fare conditions allow refunds (according to art. 19, Decree 809/2024).

Purchases from travel agencies or other websites

In this case, you must get directly in touch with their staff to check your refund options.
