Can I use my return ticket without flying the outbound leg?

The flights on your ticket must be used in the order they appear on your itinerary.

For trips that are 100% domestic and operated exclusively by LATAM, if you didn't fly the outbound leg, you can board the inbound flight without contacting us to confirm that you will fly the return flight. You just need to present yourself for Check-in and boarding for the next flight on time. This rule applies to all countries where we operate domestic flights: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.

Important: The inbound flight must be boarded from the final destination of the original itinerary; in other words, it is not applicable for passengers who missed intermediate segments (connections) of the outbound journey (except for flights within Chile, where intermediate segments are allowed).

For international flights, if you didn't fly the outbound leg, you can board the inbound flight only when allowed by local regulations. Check the details below for each applicable case.

International flights from Colombia:

  • Flights 100% operated by LATAM
  • You must contact us before the departure of the flight you are about to miss, or at maximum 1 hour later, letting us know that you will fly the next leg and confirm your seat. If you contact us later, resuming the trip is subject to the conditions of your fare.

International flights from Peru:

  • Flights 100% operated by LATAM and purchased in Peru
  • You must contact us before the departure of the flight you are about to miss, letting us know that you will fly the next leg and confirm your seat. If you contact us later, resuming the trip is subject to the conditions of your fare.

Europe:

  • Flights 100% operated by LATAM and purchased in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal or the United Kingdom
  • You must contact us before the departure of the flight you are about to miss, or at maximum 24 hours later, letting us know that you want to keep the next flight. If the next flight departs within 24 hours or less, you must advise us up to 2 hours before the flight that you will be taking. If you contact us later, resuming the trip is subject to the conditions of your fare.
