I am a Venezuelan outside my country, what documents do I need to present to enter Venezuela?
The Venezuelan Government has established the following new policies which are currently in effect for Venezuelans entering their country:
- Venezuelan passengers must have a valid Venezuelan passport for traveling. Passengers carrying only a Venezuelan identity card will be denied boarding, even if it is valid.
- If your Venezuelan passport is expired, you must request a “Travel Document” from an accredited Venezuelan Consulate or Embassy abroad. Then, call the LATAM Contact Center to register your documentation at least 72 hours before boarding.
Note: The authority has provided an email (emergencia.orc@mppre.gob.ve) for passengers to request the “Travel Document” from countries without an accredited Venezuelan Consulate or Embassy.
- Venezuelan passengers who are legal residents in another country must also request the “Travel Document” if their Venezuelan passport is expired.
- Venezuelan passengers with dual nationality, whose Venezuelan passport is expired, may present their valid passport from the other nationality along with the expired Venezuelan passport. There is no need to request the “Travel Document” in this case.
