If I am a U.S., Canadian, or Australian national, do I need a visa to enter Brazil?
Starting from April 10, 2025, a valid eVisa will be required for all passengers holding passports from the United States, Canada, and Australia when traveling to Brazil for up to 90 days for business or leisure purposes.
- Application process: You can apply for the electronic visa (eVisa) by visiting the official Brazilian eVisa website. The process is entirely online, so there is no need to visit a consulate or embassy.
- Processing time: Up to 5 business days. It is strongly recommended to apply for your eVisa in advance in order to avoid delays.
- Visa reception: Travelers will receive an email with the corresponding eVisa in PDF format. It is mandatory to download, print, and present a physical copy at Brazilian customs upon arrival and departure in this country.
- Exceptions: This requirement does not apply for transit passengers with international connections as long as they remain within the international boarding area and do not clear Brazilian customs.
We invite you to review all the details on the Consulate General of Brazil website to prepare your trip in advance and obtain complete information on visa procedures and the steps to follow to complete this process.
