What is a cabin Upgrade?
A cabin Upgrade is a benefit that allows passengers on LATAM flights to apply for Premium Economy or Premium Business cabins through courtesy segments, provided there are seats available.
Who can apply?
The cabin Upgrade option is available to our LATAM Pass program members. Gold, Gold Plus, Platinum, Black and Black Signature LATAM members can apply, as long as they have the necessary courtesy segments to do so and they fly on flights operated by LATAM.
How many courtesy segments do I have available?
Each member has a certain number of different segments to fly inside and outside of South America, according to their category. Therefore, only one courtesy segment is needed to apply for each flight. Keep in mind that if the flight number changes, you'll need another segment. Check the detail of segments by category below:
How can I apply?
You can apply with your Elite member courtesy segments or with your LATAM Pass Miles* through the Upgrade option on our website.

What are the basic requirements to apply?
You have to make sure that you have enough segments for the route you wish to apply for and that your flight is operated by LATAM. Keep in mind that by buying or redeeming your ticket in Standard or Full fares, you can apply for flights within and outside of South America. Whereas if your fare is Light, you can only request an Upgrade for domestic flights within South America and the Caribbean.*

Where can I apply?
You can apply for a cabin Upgrade directly from My trips or through the LATAM Airlines App. Also, if you are a Black Signature or Black member, you'll receive an invitation to apply directly by email.
How will I know if I get the Upgrade?
If you are one of the lucky ones, we'll notify you by email 12 hours before your trip or at the airport. Your priority will depend on your Elite status and the time you apply.
It's important to know that you will not be able to make changes or get refunds once the Upgrade is confirmed.
